North Florida Toys for Tots 2007

THE BIG NEWS:  PORSCHE IS BACK!  Shaun and Petey Win the Level I Division with a perfect 30 points.  Mae continued her [rpgess by turning in some typically amazing rounds in the level IIIs.  Jesse and Zeus, along with Sarah and Cherokee were outstanding in the beginning hunters.  Sarah won the equitation over fences, and the Jesse/Zeus pair were hard to beat.  Amber and Cherokee got good ribbons in the adult hunters, especially the Classic.  Bernadette and Jack are really looking like hunters - and got even better as they went along.

But what made everybody look was "The Grey Streak."   Porsche and Shaun destroyed the Level II competition, with Porsche smiling the whole time.  It was great to see her back out there, with more - and higher - to come. 

That's right - IT WAS A LEVEL I,II,III SWEEP FOR IHE!

As always, Lynn made sure we all got where we needed to be, either by keeping up with schedules, horse treats (apple wafers for Petey and Gatorade for Mae), or people treats (thanks for the hersheys/whipped cream coffee!).  Team IHE - GREAT JOB!

December, 2007:  On a sad note, this was to be Porsche's last show.  Little did we realize, Porsche was suffering from an abdominal cancer and had to be put down on November 28, 2007.  Photos like the one above, where she cleared an obstacle at a nearly impossible angle, show just some of her greatness.  She went out on top - way ahead of the field in her final contest.  We are all greatly saddened by the loss of a truly gifted horse, and a very sweet-natured member of our family.  Porsche, you will be missed.
